GLOWSKIES  About Us

“Lanterns have long been a significant part of cultures and festivities. They signify light, hope and enchantment, with a strong heritage. They represent togetherness, and the celebration of special moments,”

Music and colour has always played a role in festivals and special occasions. Now Glowskies is adding a new dimension – light.

Celebratory lanterns have been a part of popular culture and mythology for thousands for years. Taiwan’s First Full Moon festival is celebrated by lighting hundreds of lanterns to send wishes closer to heaven so they can be heard. In Thailand, thousands of people gather to light lanterns during festivals because they signify longevity, fulfillment of wishes and release from sins. In China, lanterns are sent to light up the sky in celebration of the Chinese New Year. In Europe, flying lanterns have become a quintessential component in adding glitz and glamour to weddings and birthday. Around the world, these lanterns’ complex interplay of light, colour and movement conjure emotions of release, celebration, purity and acceptance.
